Mico Newark Concert reviews
Entertainment At Its Best
Mico and Silvertone put on another fabulous show, providing amazing entertainment at each and every concert with his talented band. They obviously like performing at Chateau Ste. Michelle, where the concerts are always packed with high energy and fun songs.
We are somewhat disappointed with the venue. It's a beautiful place, but the policy on cameras is confusing – strictly no cameras, but cell phone cameras are allowed. Buying expensive reserved seats near the stage only to have people stand between the seats and stage is also disappointing. We hope Chateau Ste. Michelle will reconsider these policies next year.
The sound volume was a little too loud during the concert, with Mico's usually crystal-clear voice somewhat distorted in some songs. Perhaps our seats being close to the stage made this more noticeable.
While Shawn Colvin's opening act was probably talented, we didn't care for it. Her set was too long, boring, and not the right genre for the concert. Tuning her guitar between songs was annoying. However, she did sing beautifully with the band during their set.
Our criticism is with the venue, not the band. Mico and his band are professional entertainers who never fail to put on a fabulous show. We'll never miss a concert as long as they come our way.
